I say it all the time: “I’m keeping this for someday.” I’m certain I inherited that from my mother.
When I first toured the upstairs spaces at 622 W. Main Street in Arlington, Texas, I felt a tug in my heart. I felt connected. I felt inspired. I felt hopeful. I felt peace. I felt at home. I felt like I could really do something with the place.
I knew it was the landing place for the longstanding vision of having a physical creative space.
A space with good bones simply needs vision, love, and personality. And art has the power to transform a space—and to affect the way we think, feel, and experience it.
Many of the pieces you see here were collected a long time ago, knowing that someday I would find just the right place for them.
Art I was given or picked up from various places simply because it spoke to me. A bench I built for our homeschool days. Dancer and drummer figurines I bought when my children were young. A silver side table and a precious butterfly pillow from my daughter’s teenage bedroom (she grabbed that one and insisted it had to come). Even a disco ball I bought for her Sweet 16 that we never used.
I kept them.
And somehow, they found their way here.
My love affair with all things floral is evident here too. Having the opportunity to create and feature my first public floral art installation is a dream!
My daughter and I agreed that we wanted a floral wall in the space. The challenge was figuring out what it would be. I already had a bunch of faux flowers and picked up a few more that helped lead the inspiration. I also used dried branches from my yard.
For this creation, I had no design sketch. I wanted to put it together in the space and allow it to naturally find its place among the other motifs and vignettes in the room. So I went with my eye and my heart—which, I admit, led to a little frustration at times—but I kept going.
And I really love it!

What a joy it has been to finally bring everything together and watch it all breathe new life into these rooms. Things from different places, different times, and different seasons of my life now have a place together.
Maybe that’s what I’ve always meant by “someday.”
Sometimes you don’t know where something will belong. You just know it means enough to keep.
And then, one day, someday arrives.
The finishing touches are in place.
The haven awaits you.
We look forward to sharing it with you!
