I was blessed to attend the opening of As I Rise, a stunning solo exhibition by NiEtta Reynolds of 2406 Photography. The works celebrate five multigenerational women from South Dallas who are making significant impacts in their community and beyond. Hearing the interviews and stories of each woman was heartwarming and inspiring.
I had the opportunity to meet NiEtta last summer, and we instantly had a creative and personal connection. I have only met a handful of women photographers in my lifetime, and what I have noticed is that women convey undeniable intuition and emotion through their work. NiEtta’s generous heart and keen eye for capturing and telling stories speak passionately through her work. Her connection to her subjects is authentic. She is engaging, lively, intentional, sensitive, and soulful.
The exhibition runs August 1 – September 1, 2025 at The Market Cafe at Bonton Farms, 6911 Bexar St, Dallas, TX 75215. A documentary is set to be released.
